Davis Riverwalk will be a mix of 40+ residences and shops located by the scenic Blackwater River in historic Davis, West Virginia. Homes will be sited where once lumber mills and the Western Maryland Railroad overlooked a river of logs, floating down from lumber camps in the surrounding mountains.
Building designs will emphasize low energy and maintenance costs, and will reflect the hardy spirit of the 19th century lumber & mining boomtown that Davis once was.
Riverwalk adjoins the Davis Riverfront Park and together they will offer about 2,000 feet of riverfront, with benches, shelters and trails. Riverwalk's trailheads will connect with scenic hiking, biking and skiing routes in neighboring public lands.
In 2008, the first construction will be Riverwalk Shops & Spa, a remodeling of the grocery store built and operated by the late Carmen DiBacco. Davis residents and visitors will enjoy three large retail stores and a wellness spa offering massage therapy, steam, sauna, yoga and more. Completion is targeted for late 2008.
All public buildings, some trails, and select homes will offer handicap/senior accessibility.
Retail, restaurant and home ownership opportunities starting in 2008. |
